- Track Name: Opening (Amazing)
-
A five ton animal in front of your eyes
Isn't that amazing?
Massive strength, unbelievable size
Isn't that amazing?
When the crowd goes wild but the look in their eyes is a silent fear
It's amazing...
The trapeze swinger is about to take flight
Isn't that amazing?
Smilin at death from a mystical height
Isn't that amazing?
But when the rope gives way and the act goes wrong, will anybody catch you?
It's amazing...
Flying so high above you can find
What it means to find love in the eye
Of an elephant thundering by
There's no difference between you and I
It's amazing...
Well we all get hurt so bad sometimes
Its amazing
When we try to break loose from the chains that bind
Isn't that amazing?
And you're free to be whatever you what and you never look back
It's amazing...
- Track Name: Runnin' To Get What's Mine
-
My heart don't pound as hard as a hammer for anybody anywhere
My hands are hard as rock, let them rest in peace
If you're bein called, by all means, take your life and take flight
I can hear the calling, getting on the train come twilight
Crossin over the county line
Headed into a different sky
Walkin in the city where it looks like a different world
What I find is what I'm bringin back to the county line
Runnin to get what's mine
Life don't wait around, cousin
Ya gotta go out there and capture it
I can hear the whistle comin
Listen to it blow
I've had this place all figured out for years
It's time to break out
I've come of age, adventures something I just shouldn't live without
Someday I'll go
Flying ever so high beyond the sky
I can see the county line, it's only just in sight
I can see the skyline fading now
So soon I'll see
What it all could mean
All that I am will not be a spot inside a map
Headed into a different sky
Runnin to get what's mine
- Track Name: Look What We Can Do
-
I don't need a big house, Wallace
Or a fascinating life
I just need some place I can call a home
I don't need land
A little garden would be nice
But I want friends because we shouldn't be alone
Of all the days you've been with me
Your hands have been so strong to touch me at my roots
That's all I want
All I need is the very best of you
I want to crochet, fix dinner
Make shirts and socks and shoes
And we can watch the sizes rise as our children do too
Of all the things I'd ever own, I'd never need a telephone, because when it rings
I'll be fine at home
All I need is the very best of you
And though home is where the heart is, your home is mine as it is
No chandelier or diamond necklace, please
Release me from the life I've lived
The only thing you have to give is you
Look what we can do
- Track Name: Elephant's Eye
-
Never been a lot of room in a place like this
Never had a lot of things I could call my own
No one ever looks at me the way they look at every other person
In this small-minded town
Except him
In his eyes he's a lot like me
Tryin to find a way to be a little more free
But when you're larger than life
You see more from up high
That's why I believe I was born with an elephant's eye
Never forgotten
Never surprised
You got a lot in your head for a girl your age
A passion I have seldom seen
But remember to give in all the things that you will earn
The best thing you've got may never return
In his eyes I'm imagining Irene
It's been so long since I've felt the touch of any creature so kind
To know there is a heart so big inside another living thing
A gentle hand
A trusting eye
Steady and open wide
You can see like me
- Track Name: Deal 'Em Out
-
You know I've had enough of you, crow
I thought we all knew our place!
Your black fingers don't belong in this hand and now I'm raising the stakes
Jack, you talk a big game, but your card skills never really say the same...
Go get em sweet thing!
Ready or not, deal me in boys I'm stirrin the pot
Deal 'em out
Deal 'em out
Deal 'em out
Deal 'em out
All night long
Deal 'em out
Deal 'em out
Deal 'em out
Deal 'em out
Singin a song
Dealin out cards, drinkin cheap whiskey
I think I'm gettin the hang of this!
You're learnin from the best
I don't know if I can handle this
Easy Jack, don't make a mess
One pair, two pair, three pair, four
Drinkin cheap liquor till we hit the floor
I'm callin your bluff!
Come on and raise me two more
Losing wasn't actually what I came here for
Alright boys, turn em over, lets see what you got...
Flush
Full House
Four of a kind, I win
And thats how you play the game
- Track Name: Muddy Water
-
What am I doing?
Why am I here?
This is not my place to intrude
Lost in a circus like some big top buffoon
I've never known myself to be so senseless
All these things still left inside this place that I took months to build
Has gathered dust, and now my heart feels everything left unfulfilled
She's muddy, muddy water
And I cant swim when I cant see what is in front of me
She fell from above and now I've caught her
No one knows
But I had a different life and it still haunts me
Pull me out of muddy water
What is she to me?
Someone to calm my soul?
But what am I to her,
A man whos just too hurt to hold?
All these things I shouldn't do have led me here yet I still pursue
Because this place could be where my new life begins
She's muddy muddy water
And I keep swimming
Because I'm looking for the truth
I've got this condition which causes me to falter
I'm just a masquerade of lies, paraded in a three ring circus
Still it comes as no surprise, while I'm looking for my purpose
I've come upon something strange
I'm unable to interpret
I need something to show me that all of this is worth it
She's muddy muddy water
And I can't stand with current rushing through my legs
I can find a reason
I'll ration all my strength to become something new
Irene, what should I do?
- Track Name: Elephants Find Their Way Home
-
Down in the field where the animals lay
Down in the field where the animals lay
Swimmin under water for the whole damn day
Down in the field where the animals lay
Elephants always find their way back home
Elephants always find their way back home
Like Winnesaw where the buffalo roam
Elephants always find their way back home
Flesh may burn but the bones still stay
Flesh may burn but the bones still stay
From the snow in winter to the flowers in May
Flesh may burn but the bones still stay
- Track Name: Never Alone
-
Lately I've been wonderin why
It seems some have to die
Before anybody says they cared for them
I'm never the kind to get hurt
Never the kind to fall
Just got up and wiped off the dirt
Whiskey works best when you know you'll be plannin on sleepin
People do tricks when they're scared of bein alone
We'll find our way home if we're lost and we'll be forgiven
I spent my whole life by myself
I will not be dyin alone
I took my mamas name
With it, my mamas shame
A beautiful women left with Daddy's heart to break
I've always been climbin uphill
I've always been feelin this hurt
I've been abandoned
Dont know what this cheap life is worth
I hope its hot where I'm goin
Like a Baton Rouge summertime
Or maybe cold, maybe frozen
Forever locked in wintertime
Sometimes nowhere is home when no one can tell you they love you
Sometimes death's an aquaintence
And danger a friend whose close by
Don't say I'm lost, cause I've found I've always been dreamin
I spent my whole life by myself, I will not be dyin alone
